Amber Flag Program

Since 2020 the Convent Junior School have participated in the Amber Flag initiative in conjunction with Pieta House. The Amber Flag initiative recognises the individual efforts of schools to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental well being. Each year we try to develop something new in our school that makes school a happy and inviting place for children and staff. We have buddy benches and friendship stops in the yard, we engage in the Active Flag and the daily mile, the children have a lovely play area and pitch to play on and we have a sensory room indoors. We have also engaged in some mindfulness activities and host an annual Wellbeing Week for the students, parents and staff. We look forward to implementing some more ideas to support the school community’s mental health and also to highlight the charity Pieta House.
